Director - Assistant Global Controller

Location: On-site in Marlborough, Massachusetts, United States; up to 15% domestic and international travel.

Salary: $160,000–$180,000 per year, plus bonus or incentive pay.

What you will do

• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close and consolidation processes.
• Review consolidated financial statements, reconciliations, regional results, and performance metrics while resolving significant accounting issues.
• Partner with regional finance teams to maintain SOX-compliant controls, including risk assessments, testing, and remediation.
• Research complex U.S. GAAP matters, prepare accounting position papers, and advise on transactions and contracts.
• Coordinate external audits, statutory reporting, and corporate compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
• Drive finance standardization, automation, continuous improvement, and controllership team development using hirify.global Business System tools.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field with 14+ years of experience, or a Master’s/Doctoral degree with 12+ years of experience.
• At least 4 years of people-management experience.
• Progressive accounting and finance experience in a multinational, publicly traded company or Big 4 public accounting environment.
• Deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting concepts, consolidations, revenue recognition, internal controls, and statutory reporting.
• Experience leading cross-functional and geographically dispersed teams across the Americas, EMEA, and APAC.
• Experience with SOX compliance, risk management, audit coordination, global ERP systems, consolidation tools, reporting platforms, and data analytics.

Nice to have

• CPA or equivalent international accounting qualification.
• Manufacturing and life sciences industry knowledge.
• Shared Service Center experience.
