Director, Statistical Programming Innovation (AI)

What you will do

• Define and drive the technical roadmap for innovation in statistical programming practices, tools, and infrastructure.
• Evaluate, pilot, and implement AI-assisted tools to improve programming efficiency, quality, regulatory compliance, and GDPR compliance.
• Replace manual and traditional SAS-based processes with automated, reproducible pipelines using R, Python, and emerging technologies.
• Design, build, and maintain reusable tools, macros, packages, and templates for consistent programming deliverables.
• Lead the modernization and integration of SAS workflows with R- and Python-based solutions.
• Provide technical direction for R Shiny applications, including interactive review tools, safety and efficacy dashboards, and TLF exploration tools.

Requirements

• BS degree or equivalent experience in Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Data Science, or a related quantitative field.
• 10+ years of statistical programming experience, including expertise in R and SAS within CRO or pharmaceutical environments.
• 5+ years in a technical leadership role and 2+ years of supervisory or management experience.
• Strong working proficiency in R for data manipulation, automation, and statistical analysis.
• Hands-on and leadership experience building tools, macros, or pipelines that improve efficiency or standardization.
• Experience providing technical direction for R Shiny architecture, modularity, performance, and deployment.
