Loan Accountant (Fintech)

Location: Hybrid, based out of offices in Bloomington, Illinois; Lakeville and Mankato, Minnesota; or Sun Prairie and Prairie du Sac, Wisconsin. Up to 50% work from home.

Salary: $52,100–$73,900 USD base pay annually, plus variable compensation and benefits.

What you will do

• Provide accounting services for assigned loan, lease, and general ledger clearing account functions.
• Set up loans, maintain billing and statements, process payments and disbursements, and monitor payment and interest-rate accuracy.
• Create daily general ledger, exception journal, and unposted-item entries while identifying and correcting errors.
• Process ACH transactions, wires, NACHA uploads, EFT releases, tax reporting items, and specialized loan and bond servicing requests.
• Support participated loans, hedge requests, foreign funding, and transaction-related requests from internal teams, vendors, AgriBank, and SunStream.
• Monitor fraud, resolve accounting issues, document procedures, and recommend process improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least 3 years of related work experience, preferably in financial services.
• Knowledge of accounting principles and strong analytical, problem-solving, accuracy, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Strong interpersonal communication, client service, teamwork, deadline management, and independent-work abilities.
• Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications and accounting software.
• Must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States. Visa sponsorship or transfer of sponsorship is not available. A valid driver’s license is also required.
