Scientist - Proteomics

Location: Boston, Massachusetts, United States; 100% onsite

What you will do

• Design and execute TMT, DIA, and DDA proteomics experiments with internal and external investigators.
• Develop automated workflows for sample preparation, instrument scheduling, data acquisition, and analysis.
• Operate, calibrate, monitor, and maintain Thermo and Bruker mass spectrometry instrumentation.
• Integrate laboratory robotics and liquid-handling systems into proteomics pipelines.
• Develop and troubleshoot whole-cell proteomics, interactome analysis, and enrichment workflows.
• Analyze proteomics data, support biological interpretation, mentor junior staff, and maintain safety, quality-control, and data-integrity standards.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in biochemistry, analytical chemistry, bioengineering, or a related field.
• Strong expertise in mass spectrometry-based proteomics and data analysis.
• Required hands-on experience operating Thermo and/or Bruker mass spectrometers.
• Experience with laboratory automation, robotics, or pipeline development, including Hamilton, Opentrons, or custom workflow scripting.
• Proficiency with quantitative proteomics, including label-free, TMT, DIA, and enrichment techniques.
• Experience with DIA-NN, Proteome Discoverer, R, and Python, plus strong troubleshooting, organizational, and communication skills.
