Sr Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Greater Seattle Area, United States. U.S. citizenship or national status, U.S. permanent residency, or lawful admission as a refugee or asylee is required under export control regulations.

Base pay for Washington applicants: $197,529.00–$276,539.55 per year. Other site ranges may differ.

What you will do

• Act as technical lead for a full-stack Scrum development team, owning design, delivery, and planning across multiple systems.
• Drive technical implementation, estimate effort, manage technical debt, and balance competing priorities.
• Develop an AI-first engineering methodology using LLMs, agentic workflows, and code-generation tools.
• Lead anomaly investigations, root-cause analyses, recovery plans, incident response, and on-call production support.
• Mentor engineers, improve code review and quality practices, and develop tooling for engineering and system operations.
• Work with customers, product managers, and partner organizations to identify pain points and inform roadmap decisions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of experience developing enterprise-grade distributed applications, including at least 3 years in technical leadership.
• Advanced knowledge of the full software development lifecycle, including coding standards, testing, security, source control, CI/CD, and operations.
• Deep understanding of microservices, containerized or serverless environments, and debugging distributed system failures.
• Experience developing and operating AWS services with infrastructure as code.
• Ability to lead through informal authority, communicate with technical and non-technical audiences, and advance AI-assisted engineering practices.

Nice to have

• Experience with Java, Spring Boot, React, TypeScript, and Python.
• Experience with data-intensive applications and streaming or event-driven architectures.
• AWS Associate or Professional Certification.
• Experience with GovCloud or other highly regulated environments, SLOs, observability, and incident management.
• Manufacturing or aerospace experience and interest in Generative AI systems.
