Permanent Unit Technician

Location: Alvin, Texas, USA; requires travel to client jobsites throughout the United States and internationally.

What you will do

• Operate, monitor, inspect, start up, shut down, and adjust permanent unit equipment according to procedures and client requirements.
• Collect process data and monitor temperature, pressure, flow rates, levels, and other operating parameters.
• Use DCS, PLC, HMI, instrumentation, and other process control systems to maintain operating variables within established limits.
• Support preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance, including inspections, minor repairs, adjustments, component replacements, and troubleshooting.
• Respond to alarms and abnormal operating conditions, investigate root causes, and escalate issues when necessary.
• Maintain operating logs, maintenance records, inspection documentation, CMMS data, inventory records, and daily, weekly, and monthly reports.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; education in refinery processes or a related field is relevant.
• More than 3 years of experience in process control, monitoring, or a similar industrial role.
• Strong understanding of process control principles, instrumentation, and automation technologies.
• Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, equipment manuals, and technical documentation.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a TWIC card and valid passport, hold a current driver's license, and pass required drug, alcohol, and background screenings.
