Technical Writer - NPD Engineering

Location: Fully onsite in Chandler, Arizona, United States. Monday–Friday schedule; no routine travel is expected.

What you will do

• Prepare, update, and support submission of SDRL-controlled and customer-controlled technical deliverables for New Product Development programs.
• Create and revise Engineering Test Plans and Test Reports with Test Engineering, documenting objectives, configurations, methods, data requirements, acceptance criteria, and results.
• Coordinate with Test, Systems, Design Engineering, and Program Management to gather inputs, clarify requirements, and verify technical content.
• Track customer comments, manage document revisions and version control, and maintain traceability through resubmission.
• Maintain and improve documentation templates, formatting standards, technical-writing processes, and configuration-management practices.
• Manage multiple deliverables across parallel programs and communicate documentation status, risks, dependencies, and commitments.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent directly relevant experience.
• Experience creating technical documents from multiple source materials and working with SDRLs or comparable controlled technical deliverables.
• Experience developing or substantially supporting Engineering Test Plans and/or Engineering Test Reports.
• Ability to understand technical requirements, engineering concepts, specifications, and test information and convert them into clear documentation.
• Experience with formal review cycles, customer comment resolution, controlled revisions, version control, and configuration management.
• U.S. citizenship, U.S. person status, or required U.S. government export authorizations are necessary for ongoing employment. Strong written communication and Microsoft Word proficiency are required.

Nice to have

• Approximately two or more years of technical-writing or engineering-documentation experience.
• Experience in aerospace, defense, energetics, semiconductor equipment, advanced manufacturing, medical device, automotive, or another regulated technical environment.
• Experience with customer comment matrices, disposition logs, document-management systems, configuration-control systems, or Agile processes.
• Experience improving technical-documentation templates, standards, workflows, or processes.
