Senior Spam Data Engineer (Cybersecurity)

What you will do

• Monitor and adjust detection systems for new and emerging threats.
• Develop automation and tooling to improve resilience against emerging threats.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Support, Threat Operations, and Technical Services to improve threat-detection efficacy and customer response.
• Document threats and trends through internal and external reports and presentations.
• Support users submitting CSI remediation requests.
• Participate in a 24x7 follow-the-sun rotation, including weekend coverage.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in anti-abuse email deliverability, threat research, security research, or a related field.
• Strong analytical, creative problem-solving, verbal, and written communication skills in English.
• Experience working with remote and worldwide teams and documenting research in reports and presentations.
• Strong understanding of the Internet, malicious actors, and email, mobile, DNS, or other messaging technologies.
• Proficiency in Shell, Perl, Python, and/or Go, plus familiarity with SQL.
• Knowledge of SIEM tools such as Splunk or Kibana.

Nice to have

• Experience with an Internet Service Provider, Email Service Provider, or Mobile Operator.
• Understanding of operating systems and network protocols.
• Proficiency in a non-English language.
