Data Engineer (Databricks)

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT data pipelines.
• Develop data warehouse architectures, data lakes, and dimensional data models.
• Manage distributed computing systems and high-throughput datasets.
• Implement batch and streaming data processing, orchestration, and workflow management.
• Apply data quality, security, governance, and reliability practices.
• Collaborate with software engineers and data consumers across the organization.

Requirements

• Experience designing and implementing scalable data pipelines, data warehouses, and data lakes.
• Experience with distributed computing, large-scale datasets, and data modeling, including star schemas or data vaults.
• Advanced relational and non-relational database design and optimization skills.
• Strong knowledge of Azure, Databricks Asset Bundles, Unity Catalog, advanced SQL, DaaS, and data contracts.
• Understanding of cloud infrastructure, data security and governance, version control, and CI/CD.
• Strong systems thinking, attention to data quality, and collaboration skills.

• Experience using AI tools to automate workflows, process data, or support research.
