TL;DR
Service Policy Intern (Regulatory Compliance): Supporting tariff-rule interpretation, policy administration, data analysis, and process improvement for electricity and natural gas utility operations with an accent on regulatory requirements, documentation, and technology-enabled automation. Focus on analyzing rates and standards, auditing policy resources, documenting workflows, and supporting customer project reviews.
Location: Hybrid, with in-person commuting required to a designated office in Minnesota or Wisconsin; possible offices include Minneapolis or St. Paul, MN, and Eau Claire or Amery, WI.
Salary: $15.60–$19.50 per hour

What you will do
- Research and document tariff rules, administrative instructions, electric standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Organize Service Policy resources, SharePoint content, forms, and process documentation.
- Support workflow documentation, automation opportunities, and operational efficiency initiatives.
- Assist with customer project reviews, exception tracking, auditing activities, and data analysis.
- Develop training materials, presentations, and communications for internal stakeholders.
- Collaborate with Design, Engineering, Operations, Regulatory, and Customer teams.
Requirements
- Current freshman-level student or higher enrolled in an accredited college or university.
- Pursuing a degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Regulatory Affairs, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline.
- Must be able to work full-time during the summer, part-time during the school year, and commute to the designated work location in person.
- Strong written and verbal communication, organization, analytical, problem-solving, and multitasking skills.
- Ability to learn complex policies, procedures, and business processes quickly.
- Ability to work collaboratively while maintaining accurate records and attention to detail.
Nice to have
- GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Coursework or experience in business administration, project management, public policy, regulatory affairs, or related disciplines.
- Experience with Excel, SAP, Business Objects, Power BI, SharePoint, Power Automate, Power Apps, Copilot, or other Microsoft data and automation tools.
- Interest in utility operations, regulatory compliance, customer programs, or energy industry policy.
