TL;DR
Quality Manager (Aerospace) (Manufacturing Quality/QMS): Building and leading the quality function across hardware development and production with an accent on QMS compliance, inspection, supplier quality, and product reliability. Focus on scaling ISO 9001/AS9100-aligned systems, driving yield improvement, and closing NCR, MRB, CAPA, and RCA workflows in high-reliability aerospace and defense programs.

Location: Los Angeles, CA, United States; on-site

Salary: $140K–$160K per year, plus equity

What you will do

  • Own and evolve the Quality Management System, including documentation, policies, compliance, and audit support.
  • Build and lead the quality team and define quality strategy across the product lifecycle.
  • Establish quality metrics such as yield, escapes, nonconformances, and reliability, and drive improvements using Lean, SPC, and DOE.
  • Manage incoming, in-process, and final inspection processes, including metrology systems, to improve yield and reduce rework.
  • Lead MRB, NCR, CAPA, and RCA workflows through closure and support design reviews, manufacturability, and quality planning.
  • Partner with Supply Chain, Engineering, Manufacturing, suppliers, and customers on supplier quality, RMA and CoC documentation, corrective actions, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing quality or related roles in a hardware production environment.
  • 3+ years of experience leading teams or owning major cross-functional quality initiatives.
  • Strong experience with inspection, NCR/MRB, CAPA, and RCA workflows.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, GD&T, and CAD models.
  • Must meet U.S. Government ITAR eligibility requirements, including U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residence, protected-individual status, or eligibility to obtain the required authorizations.

Nice to have

  • Experience with AS9100 and/or ISO 9001 quality systems.
  • Experience scaling quality systems in a startup or high-growth environment.
  • Familiarity with IPC standards, metrology tools, SPC, DOE, PFMEA, and APQP.
  • Supplier quality experience with SCARs, FAI/PPAP, and vendor audits.
  • Experience supporting regulated or mission-critical space, defense, medical, or similar programs.
