TL;DR
Senior Acquisitions Advisor (Space-Based Surveillance and Targeting): Advising the Program Acquisition Executive on portfolio execution, acquisition strategy, budget planning, and resource allocation with an accent on Space Force acquisition and national security space programs. Focus on translating complex technical and financial information into executive-level decisions, evaluating cost, schedule, performance, risk, and strategic tradeoffs, and aligning portfolio resources with leadership priorities.
Location: Full-time onsite in Chantilly, Virginia, five days per week; this role is not remote or hybrid.
Salary: $130,000–$180,000 per year, depending on experience.

What you will do
- Advise the Program Acquisition Executive on portfolio priorities, acquisition strategy, program execution, and resource allocation.
- Analyze budgets, expenditures, schedules, risks, dependencies, performance data, and investment alternatives across the SBST portfolio.
- Identify misalignment between strategy, funding, and execution and recommend corrective actions.
- Translate complex technical, acquisition, programmatic, and financial information into executive briefings, decision papers, summaries, and leadership narratives.
- Prepare leadership for senior-level reviews, budget discussions, acquisition decisions, and engagements with Space Systems Command and Space Force organizations.
- Provide independent advice on proposals, acquisition approaches, tradeoffs, affordability, emerging priorities, and high-visibility issues.
Requirements
- At least 15 equivalent years of experience in acquisition, program, portfolio, financial management, systems engineering, or related government support roles.
- Knowledge of Space Force acquisition, programming, budgeting, execution processes, and Major Defense Acquisition Program regulations and practices.
- Experience analyzing cost, schedule, performance, risk, budget, and portfolio data and briefing senior leadership.
- Master’s degree in business, management, engineering, mathematics, technology, operations research, or a related field; a bachelor’s degree is also required.
- Active TS/SCI clearance and US citizenship are required.
- Strong written and verbal communication, analytical, problem-solving, independent judgment, and executive briefing skills.
