Senior Finance Analyst, R&D (Fusion Energy)

Location: Devens, Massachusetts, United States; hybrid workplace with occasional travel, nights, weekends, or on-call work.

Salary: $110,000–$185,000 per year, plus equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Build annual budgets and periodic forecasts for R&D cost centers, tracking actual spending against plans.
• Forecast short-term cash flows by adjusting amortization schedules and down payments.
• Track project- and program-level actuals against budgets, investigate variances, and flag risks early.
• Advise R&D leadership and budget owners on resource allocation, operating efficiency, and investment risk.
• Own program and project forecasts end to end and support continuous capital reallocation.
• Investigate vendor commitments and payment status while maintaining accurate team master data.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
• At least 7 years of experience in FP&A, corporate finance, or program finance.
• Strong financial modeling skills and advanced Excel proficiency.
• Ability to build models from ambiguous or evolving inputs and communicate clearly with technical stakeholders.
• Detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working with incomplete information in a fast-moving environment.
• Ability to work in a facility with industrial hazards, including heat, cold, noise, fumes, strong magnets, lead, high voltage, high current, pressure systems, and cryogenics.
