Internal Communications Intern

Location: Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States (Hybrid)

What you will do

• Audit SharePoint content, identify outdated or duplicate information, and recommend improvements.
• Improve navigation, content organization, discoverability, and the digital employee experience.
• Develop AQUA pro stories by interviewing service technicians and field leaders.
• Create newsletter and Viva Engage content and support frontline-focused campaigns.
• Track communication engagement metrics, produce monthly performance reports, and create dashboards.
• Support town halls and campaigns and use audience and channel data to recommend communication improvements.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, English, Business, Organizational Communication, or a related field.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organization.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Interest in employee communications, storytelling, digital content, and analytics.
• Part-time availability for a one-semester internship.

Nice to have

• Experience with Microsoft 365 applications.
• Writing, editing, interviewing, and storytelling skills.
• Data analysis and reporting experience.
• SharePoint or web content management experience.
• Experience with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or AI-enabled content creation tools such as Synthesia, Writer, or Microsoft Copilot.
