Applied AI Workflow Clinical Scientist

Location: Cambridge, Massachusetts, United States; hybrid work with on-site attendance an average of 2.5 days per week

Annual base salary: $139,100–$231,900, plus a 17.5% bonus target and eligibility for a share-based long-term incentive program.

What you will do

• Identify high-value, repeatable use cases for LLMs, agentic AI, and workflow automation across inflammation and immunology clinical development.
• Design, build, and refine reusable AI tools for study design, feasibility, trial conduct, clinical data review, and regulatory readiness.
• Partner with clinical scientists, clinical operations, biostatistics, translational teams, and computational biologists to translate workflow needs into adopted solutions.
• Evaluate AI outputs for scientific rigor, document limitations, establish guardrails, and apply human oversight for regulated and GCP-governed data.
• Extend clinical execution workflows into clinical omics and translational data analysis, including biomarker, endpoint, and patient-stratification work.
• Improve AI fluency among scientific collaborators by demonstrating practical workflows and explaining implementation trade-offs.

Requirements

• PhD with at least 1 year of experience, Master’s degree with at least 5 years of experience, or Bachelor’s degree with at least 6 years of experience in a relevant clinical, life-science, computational-biology, or quantitative field.
• Direct experience in clinical development, clinical science, clinical operations, clinical data review, or regulatory science, with a strong understanding of GCP, clinical trial conduct, and drug development.
• Experience with omics or other high-dimensional data from clinical or translational studies, including biomarker or endpoint work, patient stratification, or mechanistic analysis.
• Recent hands-on experience applying LLMs, agentic AI, or workflow automation in scientific work, including building reusable workflows.
• Strong collaboration, communication, judgment, and ability to influence without formal authority.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States by any employer and hold permanent U.S. work authorization; visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Python or similar coding experience for prototyping, automation, and reviewing engineering work.
• Experience in inflammation and immunology or an adjacent therapeutic area.
• Experience with single-cell, spatial, proteomic, or other high-dimensional clinical platforms.
• Experience with retrieval-augmented approaches, agentic orchestration, prompt and program design, workflow automation, or multimodal AI systems.
• Experience with FDA or EMA interactions, regulated AI deployment, technology partners, vendors, or academic collaborators.
