What you will do
- Conduct experimental research in actinide process chemistry and chemical engineering.
- Develop, optimize, and improve the sustainability of advanced actinide recovery processes.
- Investigate actinide speciation across a wide range of solution process conditions.
- Undertake scale-up experiments supporting the design of advanced actinide recovery processes.
- Work with dissolution, ion exchange and adsorption, solvent extraction, precipitation, and electrodeposition processes.
- Collaborate with research areas including analysis and spectroscopy, solid-state science, and expanded ACE partner activities.
Requirements
- Ability to undertake experimental research in actinide process chemistry and chemical engineering.
- Willingness to work across multiple high-priority actinide research projects.
- Interest in aqueous systems, with potential work involving organic and molten salt media.
- Ability to contribute to collaborative research and the development of nuclear science expertise.
