Analytics Engineer (Finance & Modeling)

Location: Remote; the posting also lists Chicago. The role supports working from anywhere.

What you will do

• Define and govern subscription metrics such as ARR, renewal rate, churn, CAC, LTV, and cohort revenue in dbt and Unity Catalog.
• Build tested semantic-layer definitions that support the internal Slack AI agent and enable Finance to query metrics directly.
• Automate recurring finance reporting in marimo and retire the underlying Tableau views.
• Reconcile app store, payment processor, subscription, and ledger transactions with automated checks and escalation workflows.
• Develop subscriber, revenue, renewal, retention, pricing, promotion, churn, and uplift models for CFO forecasting, board reporting, and growth decisions.
• Ship models as tested, documented scored tables with lineage rather than as standalone notebooks.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in analytics engineering, data science, BI engineering, or advanced analytics.
• Experience shipping forecasting, survival, cohort, or propensity models into business processes.
• Experience measuring price changes or growth experiments and interpreting results rigorously.
• Subscription metrics experience with finance stakeholders, including ARR/MRR, renewal, churn, LTV/CAC, or cohort revenue.
• Strong SQL, dimensional modeling, Python, and Git skills.
• Practical experience using AI coding agents, Claude Code, or agent SDKs.

Nice to have

• Experience with dbt, Databricks, Unity Catalog, or a comparable lakehouse.
• Experience reconciling transactional data with a financial system of record.
• Experience with code-first reporting tools such as marimo, Hex, Streamlit, or Quarto.
