Senior Analytics Engineer (GenAI)

Location: Downtown Chicago office at the Merchandise Mart; hybrid schedule with in-office work on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday.

Salary: USD $90,000–$110,000 per year, plus eligibility for an annual bonus.

What you will do

• Design and implement solutions that automate the end-to-end data lifecycle.
• Integrate complex systems, tools, and partner organizations across the data ecosystem.
• Build governed data solutions that provide teams with self-service access to data and insights.
• Evolve the data and analytics platform using Databricks, dbt, Spark, Kafka, and Airflow, with an increasing focus on agentic development.
• Partner with Business Operations and Product teams to understand needs, define solution concepts, and build productivity tools.
• Develop practical GenAI approaches, including reliable, observable, cost-effective tooling and agentic solutions for analysts.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in data or platform engineering.
• Strong data engineering and software development skills, including experience building and deploying data solutions on modern data platforms.
• Strong SQL and Python skills, with knowledge of data modeling and process automation.
• Ability to work with non-technical stakeholders, translate business challenges into solution concepts, and create technical specifications.
• Ability to work across high-level system design, hands-on coding, prototyping, and proof-of-concept development.
• Clear communication skills for explaining complex technical ideas and participating in design discussions.

Nice to have

• Experience with Databricks, dbt, Spark, Kafka, and Airflow.
• Experience in accounting or finance, credit risk modeling, marketing, or similar business domains.
• Personal projects or demonstrated interest in GenAI and emerging technologies.
