TL;DR
VP Robotics Engineering (AI) (robotics integration and agentic systems): Building the integration architecture that connects the IFS suite with heterogeneous robot fleets, with an accent on OEM platforms, mission orchestration, telemetry, and enterprise systems. Focus on designing agent-first interfaces, validating safe autonomous physical action, and scaling hands-on integrations through a new engineering team.
Location: London, England, United Kingdom; virtual/hybrid work is location dependent. International travel to OEM partners, customers, and flagship events in Europe, the US, and parts of Asia is required.

What you will do
- Define and build the agent-first integration architecture between the suite and major robotics OEM platforms.
- Develop an abstraction layer for dispatchable, auditable robot fleets and integrate work orders, missions, telemetry, and inspection data with enterprise records.
- Evaluate OEM platforms, guide integration investment, and represent in technical discussions with OEMs, foundation model providers, and interoperability bodies.
- Build the first integrations hands-on, validate them with real customers and live demonstrations, and deliver outcomes on fixed deadlines.
- Hire and lead the robotics integration engineering team while setting its technical standards.
- Brief executives and customers on the robotics roadmap in commercial terms.
Requirements
- 15+ years of software engineering experience, including several years architecting production integration or platform layers at enterprise scale.
- Hands-on SDK- and API-level experience with at least two major robot OEM ecosystems, such as Boston Dynamics, Agility Robotics, Unitree, or ANYbotics.
- Production experience with agentic systems, tool use, function calling, and orchestration of long-running autonomous tasks.
- Knowledge of ROS 2, robotics interoperability standards, industrial telemetry, simulation, enterprise APIs, and robot-to-business-system integration.
- Expert Python and TypeScript skills, ability to read C++, and experience with Kubernetes, containerisation, CI/CD, and edge deployment.
- Experience leading engineering teams, working with external engineering partners, and addressing safety, security, human handover, degraded modes, and auditability.
Nice to have
- Experience connecting robots or autonomous systems to ERP, EAM, WMS, or MES platforms.
- Background in utilities, manufacturing, aviation, energy, logistics, or other asset-intensive and field-service domains.
- Experience in an OEM or fleet-management vendor engineering organisation.
- Participation in standards bodies or interoperability consortia.
- Experience establishing a new engineering capability inside a larger organisation.
