Location: Prairie View, Texas, United States; in-person work may apply

Salary: Compensation is on a per-course basis and commensurate with academic discipline, faculty credentialing, and experience.

What you will do

  • Teach up to 7 undergraduate or graduate semester credit hours per semester, based on student demand.
  • Maintain student records and submit attendance reports.
  • Post assignment, midterm, and final grades on time.
  • Mentor and assist students while maintaining at least three office hours per week.
  • Attend student orientation and clinical, simulation, or studio meetings when required.
  • Complete additional duties assigned by the department head.

Requirements

  • For undergraduate teaching: a doctorate or master's degree in social work or a master's degree with a concentration in the teaching discipline and at least 18 graduate semester credit hours in that discipline.
  • For graduate or post-baccalaureate teaching: an earned doctorate or terminal degree in social work or a related discipline.
  • Knowledge of the subject area, teaching methods, and learning and development processes for youth and adults.
  • Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, multitask, and collaborate effectively.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to use virtual teaching technology and related software when required by the hiring department.

Nice to have

  • Prior collegiate teaching experience.
  • Knowledge of online learning management systems.
