Experienced General Ledger Accountant

Location: Hybrid in Belgium, with 3 days per week homeworking and 2 days per week based in Zaventem, Brussels-Capital Region.

What you will do

• Prepare and review monthly and quarterly reconciliations for inventory, intercompany, and general ledger accounts.
• Execute month-end and quarter-end closing activities, including account analysis and verification of entries and balances.
• Enter accruals, deferrals, and reclassifications into the ledger and prepare financial reports.
• Analyze financial information and collaborate with internal departments to support accurate and compliant reporting.
• Maintain supporting documentation, prepare audit files and annual accounts, and assist with surveys and tax declarations.
• Ensure timely adherence to internal and SOX controls.

Requirements

• University or Bachelor degree in Finance or a related field preferred.
• Strong general accounting, quantitative, analytical, communication, planning, and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of statutory and international accounting standards.
• Fluent written and spoken English, Dutch, and French.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and other Microsoft PC tools.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a complex and changing environment, with strong customer orientation.

Nice to have

• SAP or PeopleSoft knowledge.
