QNX Open Source Software Developer (New Graduate/Graduate) (QNX/Embedded)

Salary: $80,000–$105,000 per year

What you will do

• Analyze, port, build, and optimize open-source software for the QNX RTOS across C, C++, Python, and Rust.
• Integrate system runtimes, networking and middleware projects, AI frameworks, and robotics software such as ROS2, OpenCV, ONNX Runtime, and PyTorch.
• Contribute QNX build targets, patches, and CI configurations to upstream open-source repositories and collaborate with maintainers.
• Enable software on embedded platforms and GPU/NPU accelerators from NVIDIA, AMD, Qualcomm, and NXP.
• Integrate open-source projects with QNX graphics, networking, USB, audio, sensor, and multimedia subsystems.
• Develop porting layers and adapt CMake, Meson, Bazel, Cargo, and GN/Ninja build systems for QNX toolchains while optimizing embedded performance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong software development skills in C, C++, and Python.
• Experience with Linux/Unix development environments and cross-compilation toolchains including CMake, Meson, Ninja, and Make.
• Understanding of operating system internals and POSIX APIs, including pthreads, IPC, memory management, and networking sockets.
• Excellent communication skills and interest in collaborating with open-source developer communities.
• Self-motivation and enthusiasm for building software ecosystems.

Nice to have

• Experience porting or maintaining large open-source projects or Linux distributions.
• Experience with Physical AI, robotics, computer vision, GPU or heterogeneous compute stacks.
• Knowledge of embedded GUI engines, automotive or industrial middleware, RTOS environments, or Linux kernel and driver internals.
• Familiarity with Rust and embedded Cargo build targets.
• Active open-source contributions through upstream pull requests or patch submissions.
