Information Technology Network Architect

Location: Bryan, Texas, United States; restricted to U.S. citizens and legal permanent residents

Texas A&M University System Offices support a higher-education system comprising universities, a health science center, state agencies, and the RELLIS Campus.

What you will do

• Lead the design, implementation, and evolution of the RELLIS campus LAN, WAN, wireless, data center, and security architecture.
• Establish network engineering standards, design methodologies, installation requirements, and testing practices.
• Serve as the senior technical escalation point and oversee root-cause analysis, enterprise troubleshooting, reliability, security, and performance.
• Lead, mentor, and coordinate the Network Team while setting priorities and overseeing network projects and operational work.
• Provide technical leadership for campus expansions, new facility integrations, network build-outs, and architecture certification.
• Collaborate with campus leadership, tenants, agencies, academic partners, vendors, service providers, and external partners.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least eight years of progressively responsible experience in network engineering, architecture, or a related field.
• Advanced networking certification such as Cisco CCNP or CCIE.
• Expertise in enterprise-scale routing, switching, wireless, and security technologies.
• U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent residence is required.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, teamwork, and team-management skills.

Nice to have

• Experience leading technical teams.
• Experience with large-scale multi-tenant network environments.
• Experience with ITIL methodologies.
