Machine Operator (Extrusion)

Location: Kitchener, Ontario, Canada; onsite and shift work required

Manufacturing company producing quality parts using custom cable production machinery.

What you will do

• Read production paperwork, set up machine-centre equipment, and prepare materials for each production run.
• Operate extrusion machinery and regulate size, air pressure, vacuum, cooling, temperature, and speed controls.
• Select and install dies, machine screws, and other components; change dies according to workflow procedures.
• Measure and inspect extruded products to verify quality specifications and identify defects.
• Perform equipment safety checks, basic maintenance, tool storage, cleaning, and raw-material inventory management.
• Troubleshoot machines and out-of-specification operations, follow 5S/Kaizen procedures, and assist with training new employees.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience setting up and operating custom cable production machinery, including extrusion equipment.
• Mechanical aptitude and the ability to read and follow production paperwork and drawings.
• Mathematical skills and the ability to solve problems and react quickly and safely.
• Ability to stay organized, multitask, and work with little supervision in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work shifts.
• Fluency in English is required.

Nice to have

• Basic understanding of electrical circuits.
• Experience using Microsoft Office tools such as Excel and Word.
