Senior Regulatory Compliance Specialist (Fintech)

Location: Sofia, Bulgaria; hybrid model primarily based in the office with scheduled home-office flexibility

What you will do

• Assess regulatory requirements across multiple jurisdictions and ensure compliant business operations.
• Coordinate with departments to evaluate compliance levels across business activities.
• Review data and documentation, identify compliance gaps, conduct audits, and implement improvement plans.
• Train team members on compliance procedures and supervise junior and regular compliance specialists.
• Prepare reports for senior management and support regulatory site visits and external audits.
• Collaborate with regional legal counsels and regulators while tracking standards in virtual assets, banking, FinTech, and RegTech.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in law with a strong academic record.
• 3–5 years of relevant corporate experience in compliance, credit, payment institution, or banking licensing.
• English proficiency required.
• Ability to interpret regulatory changes, assess and mitigate risks, and solve complex interdisciplinary problems.
• Strong analytical, prioritization, planning, communication, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Ability to work independently, supervise colleagues, operate in a fast-paced environment, and meet deadlines.

Nice to have

• Experience with cryptocurrencies and blockchain.
• Knowledge of current trends and best practices in virtual assets, banking, FinTech, and RegTech.
