Lead Platform Solution Architecture (AWS)

Location: Hybrid role based in Chicago or Evanston, Illinois, or Princeton, New Jersey, United States

Salary: $155,000–$167,750 per year, plus potential cost-of-living adjustment, bonus incentives, and relocation benefits.

What you will do

• Lead the design and development of scalable, secure enterprise solutions using cloud technologies, with AWS preferred.
• Translate business needs into technically sound and cost-effective architectures, selecting suitable platforms and tools.
• Establish architectural standards and best practices, ensure security and regulatory compliance, and participate in architecture reviews.
• Optimize existing ETL pipelines, design new data-movement pipelines, and improve SQL performance.
• Use Spark for large-scale data processing and collaborate with development, operations, and business stakeholders on implementation.
• Mentor junior solution architects and stay current with emerging cloud technologies.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience as a Solution Architect designing and implementing complex enterprise solutions.
• Experience with cloud technologies, preferably AWS; Azure or GCP experience is beneficial.
• Strong knowledge of ETL pipelines, SQL optimization, and Spark for big data processing.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language, such as Python or Java, plus scripting languages such as Bash or PowerShell.
• Strong communication, collaboration, problem-solving, leadership, and mentoring skills.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without requiring employer visa sponsorship now or in the future.
