What you will do

• Locate, retrieve, prepare, scan, index, and deliver medical records for scheduled and STAT appointments.
• Scan inpatient clinical documentation at the DFCI Hospital at the point of care at least three times per week when assigned.
• Retrieve documentation from electronic document management systems and verify patient medical record numbers.
• Use master patient index, chart-tracking, and other manual and computer systems.
• Sort documentation by alphabet, number, date, and document type while meeting productivity and turnaround standards.
• Support special projects and other departmental duties as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Computer and data entry skills with a high level of attention to detail.
• Ability to manage time, prioritize workloads, multitask, adapt to change, and meet deadlines.
• Ability to maintain patient health information confidentiality and follow applicable federal, state, and Institute privacy policies.
• Strong oral communication, interpersonal, customer service, and teamwork skills.
• One year of healthcare experience is preferred; experience with medical information systems is preferred, and Epic experience is a plus.
