Specialist, Underwriting Support

What you will do

• Manage a portfolio of accounts across a new cross-class portfolio.
• Process new business and renewal accounts accurately and efficiently.
• Coordinate with underwriters to ensure account handovers, data interpretation, policy processing, and system instructions are complete and accurate.
• Maintain central documentation and files, including reinsurance premium, commission, and tax bookings.
• Liaise with Credit Control and respond to requests from brokers and clients, referring matters to Underwriting when required.
• Lead offshore-team huddles, audit work, provide quality control, support projects, and act as a reference point on systems and processes.

Requirements

• Minimum A-level standard of education or equivalent business experience.
• Some insurance experience.
• Strong organisation, prioritisation, problem-solving, communication, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong IT skills; experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Power BI is advantageous.
