Adjunct Instructor - Physics

Location: Stephenville, Texas, United States; assigned to the Stephenville campus. Teaching may be delivered in person or through approved instructional modalities according to student demand.

What you will do

• Plan, prepare, and deliver undergraduate and graduate physics lectures, seminars, and laboratory courses.
• Develop syllabi, select instructional materials, and create exams, quizzes, papers, and other assessments.
• Assess student performance, provide timely feedback, and evaluate learning outcomes.
• Engage students through active learning, discussion, collaboration, critical thinking, and hands-on instruction.
• Provide office hours, academic guidance, feedback, and mentoring to students.
• Follow university policies, academic integrity standards, accreditation requirements, and Campus Security Authority responsibilities.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Physics or a closely related field from an accredited university.
• At least 18 graduate hours in the teaching discipline.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
• Knowledge of physics sufficient for undergraduate and graduate-level instruction.
• Professional, collegial, and collaborative interaction with students, staff, and faculty.
• Completed application materials must include a cover letter, curriculum vitae or resume, at least three current professional references, and unofficial transcripts.

Nice to have

• Doctorate or terminal degree in Physics or a closely related field.
• Previous collegiate online teaching experience.

Culture & Benefits

• Temporary, part-time appointment assigned per semester on an as-needed basis.
• Appointments support the 2025–2026 academic year and may cover up to six semester credit hours.
