TL;DR
Summer Internship - Operations Analyst (Aerospace): Analyzing and optimizing PPE management for Airbus manufacturing operations with an accent on expenditure analysis, process benchmarking, and cost reduction. Focus on building PPE consumption tracking systems, optimizing stock levels, and developing sustainable implementation guidelines.

Location: Mobile Area, Alabama, United States; 100% onsite. Candidates must be willing to temporarily live in the Mobile metro area during the 10–12-week internship.

hirify.global Defence and Space operates U.S. commercial aircraft manufacturing facilities producing A220 and A320 Family aircraft.

What you will do

  • Analyze historical PPE expenditures to identify cost drivers and inefficiencies.
  • Assess and benchmark PPE ordering, distribution, and usage-tracking processes across facilities.
  • Develop cost-reduction strategies through optimized procurement, allocation, and waste reduction.
  • Create a system to monitor PPE consumption and optimize stock levels.
  • Deliver recommendations and implementation guidelines for sustaining cost reductions.
  • Work with a mentor to solve operational problems and gain experience in aircraft manufacturing.

Requirements

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship.
  • Must be willing to temporarily live in the Mobile, Alabama metro area during the internship.
  • Currently enrolled at least at the undergraduate sophomore level in an applicable program at an accredited university.
  • English communication skills required, both verbal and written.
  • Proficiency in G-Suite and Microsoft applications, with strong knowledge of technical terminology.
  • Ability to meet onsite production-facility requirements, including required PPE and occasional travel.

Nice to have

  • Studies in IT, data, business, finance, or aerospace engineering.
  • Relevant academic projects.
