Process Development Intern (Food Processing)

Location: Nijmegen, Netherlands; EU working rights required

Full-time internship starting in February 2023 for 5–6 months.

hirify.global is a global food and beverage company producing sauces, condiments, dairy products, meals, beverages, and other grocery products across more than 40 countries.

What you will do

• Run trials and analyses on emulsified products to support the development of a new factory process.
• Coordinate pilot plant trials and collaborate with internal and external partners.
• Set up microbiological challenge tests with the microbiologist and scientific services department.
• Study emulsification processing and the production of mayonnaise and emulsions at pilot plant and factory scale.
• Define analytical plans and use analytical and sensory methods to evaluate trial performance.
• Prepare periodic progress presentations for the internship supervisor and Process Team.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree level in food processing technology or food-related engineering.
• Knowledge of general food-industry processes, scale-up, ingredient interactions, and emulsification.
• Proactive, curious, organized, collaborative, and communicative approach.
• Fluent written and spoken English required; Dutch is not required.
• Enrollment at a university with at least a 50% study load throughout the internship.
• EU working rights required through EU citizenship, study in the Netherlands, or a relevant student work visa.

• Knowledge of languages other than English or Dutch.
