Associate Corporate Counsel - APAC (Cybersecurity)

What you will do

• Draft, review, and negotiate vendor, reseller, retail, marketing partnership, data-processing, SaaS, and cloud agreements.
• Advise TrendLife product and engineering teams across Taiwan and APAC on feature development, launches, go-to-market activities, consumer terms, and platform requirements.
• Draft and maintain EULAs, Terms of Service, subscription terms, in-app consent flows, and product disclosures.
• Provide day-to-day privacy support, including notices, consent mechanisms, data-processing reviews, data-subject rights workflows, privacy-by-design, and incident response.
• Support consumer-protection and advertising compliance, complaints, regulator inquiries, and pre-litigation matters.
• Manage outside counsel and build legal templates, playbooks, approval matrices, review checklists, and intake processes.

Requirements

• J.D. or equivalent law degree and a license to practice law in Taiwan or another qualifying jurisdiction.
• 5–8 years of legal experience, including meaningful in-house experience at a technology, software, digital-commerce, or consumer product company.
• Strong experience with product counseling, EULAs, Terms of Service, consumer disclosures, product launches, and privacy-by-design reviews.
• Working knowledge of Taiwan privacy and consumer-protection requirements, broader APAC regulation, GDPR, and CCPA/CPRA.
• Experience drafting and negotiating commercial software, SaaS, vendor, channel, or reseller agreements and managing outside counsel.
• Business-level Mandarin and English proficiency, both written and spoken, is required.

Nice to have

• Experience with consumer subscriptions, cybersecurity, SaaS, mobile apps, or other digital products.
• Knowledge of privacy, consumer-protection, or digital-commerce regulation in additional APAC markets, especially Australia and New Zealand.
• Experience with app-store compliance, cybersecurity or product-security regulation, consumer-facing AI functionality, or AI-governance frameworks.
