TL;DR
Test Engineer HMI ECU (automotive HMI and ECU testing): Verifying and validating software-focused HMI ECUs for Daimler Truck vehicle products with an accent on test case creation, issue analysis, and test bench maintenance. Focus on supporting HiL and vehicle testing, identifying root causes, and coordinating work packages with global stakeholders.

Location: Portland, Oregon, US. Hybrid schedule: 4 days per week in-office and 1 day remote. Applicants may work in or relocate to Portland; relocation assistance is not available.

Starting salary: $78,000–$100,000 USD annually, depending on knowledge, skills, and experience.

What you will do

  • Verify and validate software-focused HMI ECUs for Daimler Truck vehicle products.
  • Create, document, execute, and report on test cases and results.
  • Analyze issues, identify root causes, and propose resolutions.
  • Set up and maintain test benches while supporting HiL, vehicle testing, and production facilities.
  • Support HMI ECU function owners and coordinate tasks, schedules, and work packages with global stakeholders and Daimler Truck business units.
  • Prepare technical documentation, reports, and presentations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 0–3 years of professional experience in ECU testing.
  • Experience with Vector tools and knowledge of ECU interfaces.
  • Experience with Jira, Confluence, Cplace, and Microsoft Office.
  • Analytical, logical, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be legally authorized to work permanently in the US at the time of application; visa sponsorship is not available, and existing visa holders are not eligible.

Nice to have

  • Experience with Daimler Truck development processes for HMI platforms.
  • Experience engineering Daimler Truck products.
  • Experience creating source code.
