Research & Development Engineer (Medical Devices)

Location: Carrick-on-Shannon, Co. Leitrim, Ireland

What you will do

• Create product and tooling drawings for quotations, prototyping, and process development.
• Develop and present product and process concepts, including prototypes.
• Design and develop products, materials, equipment, and processes from concept through design freeze.
• Manage projects against timelines, cost targets, and technical deliverables.
• Transfer new products to manufacturing and support validations and staff training.
• Drive continuous improvement using Lean tools including 3P, 5S, DMAIC, and Six Sigma.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Science, such as Mechanical, Biomedical, Manufacturing, or Automation Engineering.
• Experience with CAD systems; Solid Edge is preferred.
• 2–3 years of experience in the medical-device industry is preferred.
• Knowledge of extrusion-based catheter assemblies is advantageous.
• Strong written, verbal, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
