What you will do

• Provide direct patient care, including recording vital signs, pain screens, weights, and heights in the EMR.
• Collect, label, and transport patient specimens, blood components, medical records, equipment, and supplies.
• Perform phlebotomy and EKG procedures as applicable and assist nursing and medical staff with clinical procedures.
• Monitor patient conditions, communicate abnormalities and concerns, and provide patients and families with instructions and wait-time updates.
• Maintain supplies, prepare medical records, clean equipment, and support the clinical care environment.
• Use clinical computer, telephone, pager, call, and emergency response systems while following Institute policies.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; college coursework preferred.
• Two years of equivalent experience in a medical setting required.
• Nursing students in an accredited bachelor's program with at least two completed clinical rotations may be considered.
• Strong organizational, communication, interpersonal, technical, and interdisciplinary teamwork skills.
• BLS certification required within 60 days of hire.
• Phlebotomy certification may be preferred depending on location.
