TL;DR
Portfolio Analyst (Investment Management): Preparing client review materials, setting up and transitioning accounts, analyzing portfolio performance, and supporting portfolio management operations with an accent on client service, compliance inquiries, and investment account administration. Focus on researching performance outliers, supporting strategic rebalancing, learning proprietary trading and portfolio accounting systems, and coordinating deliverables across Operations teams.

Location: In office at 18111 Von Karman Avenue, Irvine, California, US 92612

Starting base salary: $65,296–$104,304 per year, plus eligibility for bonus and/or commissions.

What you will do

  • Prepare review book materials for client presentations and IPS letters for new accounts, changes, and reallocations.
  • Transition and set up new client accounts while coordinating with New Accounts, Billing, Performance, and Client Services teams.
  • Analyze portfolio performance, research outliers, and support strategic rebalancing as experience develops.
  • Address client and advisor requests, phone calls, operational questions, and investment-related issues.
  • Respond to compliance inquiries, including large withdrawals and source-of-funds requests.
  • Learn the firm's portfolio management, trading, and portfolio accounting applications and perform basic trading responsibilities over time.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent; a Finance major is preferred.
  • 2 years of experience in a finance-related role, preferably in investment management and services; relevant internship experience is considered.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, and attention-to-detail skills.
  • Ability to address client or financial advisor questions about trades and investments and manage multiple deliverables.
  • Ability to learn proprietary trading and portfolio accounting systems.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint; commitment to pursue the CFA, with Level I candidacy noted.
