Clinical Assistant I Inpatient

Location: 300 Mount Auburn St, Cambridge, MA; 100% onsite. Day shift, 7 a.m.–7 p.m., 36 hours per week with rotating weekends.

Salary: $47,840–$58,024 per year.

What you will do

• Provide direct patient care and support activities of daily living, including hygiene, mobility, feeding, positioning, transport, admission, and discharge activities.
• Collect and document vital signs, pulse oximetry, blood glucose, ECGs, intake and output, bladder scans, and patient specimens.
• Report changes in patient condition and abnormal findings to the registered or licensed nurse.
• Set up, clean, and maintain patient-care equipment while following infection prevention and safe-handling procedures.
• Promote patient safety through rounding, call-light response, observation, privacy protection, and respectful communication.
• Document care in the electronic medical record and collaborate with nurses and the interdisciplinary care team.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• CNA, PCT, MA, EMT, or equivalent experience; previous experience is not required with a CNA license.
• Nursing assistant certification is required upon hire, unless the candidate is a nursing student who has completed fundamentals of nursing with a clinical component.
• BLS or CPR certification from the American Heart Association or Red Cross is required upon hire.
• English proficiency sufficient to read, speak, and write accurately, plus basic computer and math skills.
• Ability to safely lift and transport patients and communicate effectively with patients, families, and staff.
