Medical Science Liaison (Rare Disease)

Location: Little Rock, Arkansas, United States; territory includes Arkansas, Louisiana, and Mississippi. Travel up to 60% is required for territory management, conferences, workshops, and company meetings.

Annual salary: USD 156,998.40–212,409.60

What you will do

• Serve as a scientific liaison to medical and scientific communities and build relationships with clinicians, medical thought leaders, academic institutions, medical directors, and pharmacy directors.
• Communicate scientific, medical, and health economic information about products in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
• Gather customer feedback, connect unmet needs with internal resources, and collaborate across medical affairs, clinical development, and other functions.
• Identify potential speakers and train them on scientific content for sponsored external speaker programs.
• Represent Medical Affairs at regional and national conferences, track clinical trends, and maintain investigator relationships.
• Evaluate and facilitate external clinical research collaborations, investigator-initiated trials, company-sponsored trials, and competitive intelligence activities.

Requirements

• Doctorate degree and 2 years of Medical Affairs experience, or a master’s degree and 6 years of experience, or a bachelor’s degree and 8 years of experience.
• Strong oral and written communication, networking, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to work independently in a changing environment and communicate scientific and customer information effectively.
• Ability to travel up to 60%; travel periods may require working days of up to 15 hours.
• Ability to learn new business applications across PCs, iPads, and other hardware tools.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and a professional, proactive approach.

Nice to have

• Pharm.D., Ph.D., M.D., D.O., or another doctoral degree.
