Privacy Compliance Manager (Privacy)

Location: Primarily Brisbane South (Nathan), Australia; full unrestricted Australian work rights required. Hybrid on-campus and work-from-home options are available, with possible work across other hirify.global locations.

Salary: AUD 147,057.74 base salary plus 17% superannuation; full package AUD 172,057.55.

What you will do

• Lead the University's privacy compliance program using a risk-based approach aligned with strategy and legal requirements.
• Oversee and investigate Right to Information, administrative access, and privacy complaint matters, resolving systemic issues with University staff.
• Develop and deliver privacy education, training, and awareness programs.
• Monitor legislative changes and update policies, procedures, and templates.
• Advise senior leadership and privacy champions on data mapping, risk assessments, privacy impact assessments, and corrective actions.
• Maintain compliance statistics, liaise with regulators, support audits, and report progress to senior management and the Audit & Risk Committee.

Requirements

• Relevant postgraduate qualifications, preferably legal qualifications, or an equivalent combination of experience, training, accreditation, and qualifications.
• At least five years of experience in a similar role.
• Full unrestricted Australian work rights.
• Ability to work primarily at the Nathan campus and across other University locations when required.
• May be subject to a National criminal history check.
