Senior Group Corporate Counsel (Payments)

What you will do

• Provide expert legal and regulatory advice to business units and subsidiaries.
• Manage complex legal matters and liaise with external legal providers.
• Draft deeds, commercial agreements, and other legal documentation.
• Lead or support major contract negotiations, including negotiation strategy and tactical advice.
• Manage external legal budgets and support business planning and forecasting.
• Advise on compliance matters and help promote consistent adherence to legal and regulatory frameworks.

Requirements

• Experience providing financial services regulatory legal and compliance advice.
• In-house experience reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts.
• Comprehensive knowledge of relevant legislation, regulatory requirements, and ethical standards in financial services.
• Sound knowledge of AML/CTF, Corporations Act Chapter 7, APRA Prudential Standards, privacy requirements, and relevant codes.
• Experience in financial services or banking is highly regarded; ASX-listed company experience is preferred.
