Forest Resilience Skills and Capability Lead (Sustainable Forest Management): Developing and delivering forest resilience work across England with an accent on technical leadership, scientific evidence, and practical guidance. Location: Primary office at National Office, 620 Bristol Business Park, Bristol, United Kingdom. The role has a national remit across England, requires regular travel with overnight stays, and includes office-based induction during part of the working week for new hirify.global employees.

Salary: £40,388–£43,482 per annum.

What you will do

  • Provide technical leadership on forest resilience and support colleagues across the organisation.
  • Work with researchers, colleagues, and external partners to develop the forest resilience approach.
  • Translate scientific evidence into practical guidance and tools for forest management.
  • Support implementation of the Forest Resilience Strategy and Action Plan across planning and operations.
  • Contribute to the next iteration of the strategy and action plan using current evidence and best practice.
  • Collaborate on projects within a multi-million-pound Defra-funded programme to strengthen forest resilience.

Requirements

  • Relevant experience in forest resilience, sustainable forest management, or a closely related area.
  • Ability to provide technical leadership and develop the skills of colleagues.
  • Ability to interpret scientific evidence and apply it through practical guidance and tools.
  • Ability to collaborate with researchers, external partners, and internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to communicate in accurate spoken English is required.
  • Willingness to travel regularly across England, including overnight stays, is required.
