Medical Director – Spine Surgery (Orthopedic or Neurosurgery) – Evicore - Remote

Location: United States Work at Home; 100% remote

Salary: $207,800–$346,300 annually, depending on experience and geographic location, plus potential annual bonus eligibility.

What you will do

• Complete time-sensitive, evidence-based medical necessity reviews using EviCore’s case management software.
• Conduct peer-to-peer consultation calls with referring physicians about treatment appropriateness and medical necessity.
• Use clinical expertise to recommend alternative services or treatments when appropriate.
• Collaborate with more than 500 EviCore physician colleagues across multiple specialties.
• Participate in structured remote training supported by trainers, mentors, and leadership.

Requirements

• Current, active U.S. medical license and eligibility to obtain additional state licenses as required.
• M.D. or D.O. with board certification from ABMS or AOA in Orthopaedic/Orthopedic Surgery or Neurological Surgery.
• At least three years of relevant clinical experience after residency or fellowship.
• Ability to work a set Monday–Friday schedule and perform typing, speaking, and listening duties throughout the workday.
• Strong computer skills and ability to work independently with automated processes, applications, and systems.
• Encrypted company workstation must be hard-wired to a modem or router; wireless connections are not permitted. Home internet must use cable broadband or fiber with at least 10 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload speeds.

• Knowledge of applicable state and federal laws, URAC standards, and NCQA standards.
