Medical Director, General Surgery

Location: Remote from the United States; listed location: Richardson, Texas

Base pay: $191,500–$355,600 annually, plus eligibility for an annual incentive bonus.

What you will do

• Manage assigned aspects of medical policies and programs.
• Perform medical reviews and document case evaluations electronically.
• Interact with provider communities on assigned medical areas.
• Apply clinical judgment and strategic thinking to support medical program decisions.

Requirements

• Current, unrestricted physician license in a U.S. state or territory required.
• Board certification required through an approved specialty board, including ABMS, the National Board of Physicians and Surgeons, or the Advisory Board of Osteopathic Specialists.
• At least five years of clinical experience.
• Analytical, communication, and strategic thinking skills.
• Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and Lotus Notes, for electronic case-review documentation.

Nice to have

• Three years of managed care experience.
• Current board certification in General Surgery through ABMS or AOA.
