Electrical Engineering Interns (Semiconductor Manufacturing)

Location: On-site in Austin, TX or San Francisco, CA

Salary: $108,000–$126,000 annualized, plus a housing stipend. Actual earnings depend on internship length and hours worked.

hirify.global is an early-stage hardware startup developing the hardware, software, fabrication tools, and components required to manufacture chips.

What you will do

• Design PCBAs and electrical systems for chip fabrication machines.
• Own schematic capture, PCB layout, bring-up, testing, integration, and documentation.
• Collaborate with software, mechanical, and process engineering teams to define system requirements.
• Investigate design approaches and evaluate electrical systems through detailed analysis and simulations.
• Compare off-the-shelf components with custom solutions and rapidly prototype, test, and productionize designs.

Requirements

• Pursuing a bachelor's degree or higher in engineering.
• Strong electrical engineering foundation, including KiCad or Altium, microcontrollers, embedded systems, and digital circuits.
• Ability to learn quickly and troubleshoot technical problems.
• Hands-on prototyping experience and ability to move through design cycles quickly.
• Portfolio of medium-to-high complexity systems built through personal projects or previous internships is required.
• Ability to work on-site in Austin, TX or San Francisco, CA.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with semiconductor processing, including ALD, CVD, PVD, or photolithography.
• Hands-on electromechanical assembly design and analysis experience.
