Associate Automation Engineer I (SCADA/PLC)

Location: New Albany, Ohio, United States; onsite support for a 24-hour manufacturing facility. The role begins on a Monday–Friday first-shift schedule for 1–2 months and then moves to a 12-hour PM 2-2-3 schedule, including weekends and holidays as required.

What you will do

• Perform advanced maintenance activities and monitor plant support equipment in accordance with CFRs, cGMPs, SOPs, job plans, and company policies.
• Use PLC and HMI software tools to diagnose and troubleshoot automated manufacturing equipment and systems.
• Coordinate technical support across engineering, calibration, quality, validation, electrical, regulatory, and process automation functions.
• Provide technical support during FDA and other regulatory agency inspections.
• Maintain spare-parts inventory and help optimize maintenance procedures and programs.
• Interpret utility, process equipment, plumbing, ductwork, architectural, and HVAC P&IDs while supporting non-standard shifts.

Requirements

• Associate degree plus 4 years of technical engineering experience, bachelor's degree, or high school diploma/GED plus 6 years of technical engineering experience.
• Educational background in mechatronics, computer science, electronic engineering technology, computer engineering, or electrical engineering.
• Experience with SCADA/PLC control systems in the pharmaceutical, medical device, or biotechnology industry.
• Understanding of PLCs, computer serialization, packaging equipment, and inspection systems.
• Experience supporting and installing automation-system hardware and software.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, project management, technical writing, communication, and collaboration skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office.
