Asset Management Associate (Commercial Real Estate)

Location: Chicago Downtown office, United States

Annual base salary: $120,000–$150,100, with potential additional commission or incentive compensation.

What you will do

• Support marketing, leasing, sales, refinancing, and disposition strategies to maximize asset value and investment returns.
• Build and maintain sophisticated Excel financial models, forecasts, quarterly reforecasts, and property investment analyses.
• Manage cash flow, property distributions, operating budgets, capital improvement plans, and variance reviews with accounting and operating partners.
• Partner with Capital Markets on loan refinancings or restructurings and with Portfolio Management on quarterly reporting.
• Lead reporting and communications with joint-venture partners and assist with investment letters, memorandums, and sale-asset due diligence.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to Capital Markets Analysts and Senior Analysts while coordinating with developers, operators, partners, tenants, and residents.

Requirements

• Undergraduate degree.
• 4–8 years of experience as an analyst or senior analyst at a commercial real estate development or investment firm.
• Experience forecasting and modeling commercial real estate investments with strong knowledge of fundamental valuation concepts.
• Knowledge of LLC and partnership agreements, property tax assessment, management agreements, financing structures, and loan documentation.
• Employment eligibility verification to work in the United States is required.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a matrix organization while meeting deadlines and maintaining high attention to detail.

Nice to have

• Asset management experience in multifamily and/or senior living.
• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Experience mentoring analysts and reviewing financial models and investment analyses.
