Geologist

Location: Residential role in Waihi, New Zealand; applicants must be eligible to work in New Zealand. 9 days on, 5 days off roster with 10-hour shifts.

What you will do

• Log exploration and grade control drill core accurately and within required timeframes.
• Supervise core shed technicians during sampling, sample preparation, and dispatch.
• Analyse and report assay quality control data and sample turnaround times.
• Maintain, validate, enter, and load geological, drilling, sampling, and assay data.
• Support diamond drilling programmes and maintain geological logging systems.
• Assist with regional field programmes, including outcrop mapping, soil sampling, and geophysics.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Geology or Earth Science.
• Minimum one year of postgraduate experience preferred.
• Sound technical geology, mapping, interpretation, and sampling theory skills.
• Strong PC skills and computer literacy.
• Full and current driver licence, including the ability to drive manual vehicles.
• Eligibility to work in New Zealand is required.
