TL;DR
Laboratory Technician/Assistant – Entry Level (Environmental Testing): Processing environmental samples through subsampling, homogenization, weighing, QA/QC, and transfer to the preparation laboratory with an accent on soil sample handling and laboratory workflow accuracy. Focus on prioritizing work in LIMS, maintaining sample traceability, assisting with sample receipt and disposal, and following laboratory procedures during overnight shifts.

Location: Girraween, NSW, Australia; onsite, Monday to Friday, 8:00 PM to 4:00 AM. Applicants must already have work rights or an appropriate working visa for Australia or New Zealand.

What you will do

  • Use the LIMS priority worklist to determine processing order and print container or subsample labels.
  • Homogenize and weigh soil subsamples while completing QA/QC activities.
  • Transfer subsamples to the appropriate laboratory section for extraction.
  • Assist with sample receipt, sample disposal, and general laboratory housekeeping.
  • Follow the hirify.global Code of Ethics and relevant laboratory policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Entry-level candidates and graduates are welcome to apply.
  • Comfort working in a technical environment and willingness to learn continuously.
  • Hands-on, reliable approach with practical problem-solving skills.
  • Existing work rights or an appropriate working visa for Australia or New Zealand is required.
