GNC Engineer, SLAM Focus

Location: Onsite in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States; some travel is required.

What you will do

• Develop autonomous drones capable of rapid flight through challenging environments.
• Research and implement guidance, navigation, and control algorithms.
• Develop state estimation and SLAM solutions for uncooperative environments.
• Optimize algorithms for real-time computation on embedded platforms.
• Improve physics-based simulation environments and validate autonomous behavior in simulation.
• Travel for project-related activities and testing.

Requirements

• Proficiency in C++ and Python.
• Experience with robotics state estimation and SLAM algorithms.
• Experience programming for embedded environments.
• Familiarity with Linux and Linux tools.
• Experience developing computer vision algorithms.
• Familiarity with nonlinear optimization techniques.

Nice to have

• Machine learning and experience with TensorFlow, PyTorch, or another popular ML framework.
• GPU programming with CUDA or OpenCL.
• Field and laboratory testing experience.
• Familiarity with ROS or ROS 2.
• Experience with Unreal Engine, Unity, or Julia.
• Clear, concise technical writing skills.
