Location: Washington, D.C.; U.S. offices

Salary: $254,000–$358,000 per year in Washington, D.C.; $272,000–$384,000 per year in New York, plus potential discretionary bonuses.

What you will do

  • Direct national law school, campus, lateral associate, law clerk, and summer associate recruitment strategies and programs.
  • Build relationships with law schools, outside recruiters, legal community contacts, firm leaders, practice groups, and recruiting committees.
  • Develop recruiting policies, operational procedures, technology platforms, candidate information systems, and efficient multi-office processes.
  • Manage the U.S. recruiting brand, budgets, search firm agreements, onboarding, summer programming, and candidate experience.
  • Design recruiting and retention metrics and reports, assess program effectiveness, and facilitate information sharing across offices and departments.
  • Lead recruitment team direction, hiring, training, performance reviews, coaching, and professional development.

Requirements

  • 10 or more years of experience in large law firm legal recruitment or a related industry, with progressively senior responsibilities.
  • Experience managing at least two direct reports and providing mentorship, coaching, and professional development.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; an advanced degree is advantageous.
  • Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, interpersonal, organizational, and project management skills.
  • Proficiency with recruitment software, candidate databases, and legal technology, with the ability to use data-driven insights for strategic decisions.
  • Ability to work with U.S. offices and willingness to work Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with additional hours as needed.
